TURNING EMOTIONS INTO EFFECTIVE INTERCESSION

God created our emotions—in fact, the Bible tells us God has emotions. Emotions help us empathize with others, and they add color and depth to our lives.

However, when emotions become overwhelming—especially for those who are “feelers,” they can spiral us down into hopelessness and depression.

John Sandford, Elijah House Ministries, taught me how to turn heavy emotions into effective intercession. Here is what he would say to pray: Father, take these emotions out of my soul and place them in my spirit, where I can release them to You in intercession.”

Instead of your emotions taking center stage, they become fuel for powerful prayers that will actually change lives and situations.

VISION OF A CAPTIVE FAMILY IN ISRAEL

When we began to hear of the atrocities taking place in Israel, it brought great pain to us. The Father showed me a vision of a family that had been taken captive, they had their hands tied—adults and children. I saw how the Father ordered their guardian angels to step in front of each family member, and their angels absorbed much of the fear and terror. When the person died, Jesus immediately met them, revealed Himself as their Messiah, and asked if they would like to come home to Heaven with Him. What was a crushing weight of grief became bearable, as I realized how He meets people in crisis with His faithfulness.
