CHRISTMAS STOLLEN 🎄 1 1/2 cups butter, softened 4 egg yolks 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1 tsp. Salt Grated peel from 1 lemon and 1 orange 1 tsp. Vanilla 2 1/2 cups hot milk (120 to 130 degrees) 8-8 1/2 cups flour 2 packages yeast 1/2 cup each: golden raisins, candied orange peel, lemon peel, red cherries, green cherries, chopped almonds (I use orange flavored cranberries) In large bowl beat butter, yolks, sugar, salt, peels, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Slowly add milk, mix thoroughly. Add 2 cups flour and the yeast; mix well. When smooth, add enough flour 1/2 cup at a time until dough forms and can be lifted out of the bowl.
